Aaron Kaufman (Executive Director)
Aaron has been with Penn State Hillel since 2007. Aaron hails from the great state of Michigan, and attended the University of Michigan where he met his wife Stephanie at Hillel, and also received a degree in Judaic Studies, Cultural Anthropology, and Studies in Religion as well as a Masters Degree in Social Work. Prior to working at Penn State Hillel, Aaron was the Director at the Eastern Michigan University Hillel and the Associate Director at the Cornell Hillel, and picked up a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management along the way. Aaron is thrilled to be back in the Big Ten, and loves living in Happy Valley and working with the best students and staff in the country. He plays guitar, loves good food, and has two adorable little girls, Ellie Pearl and Ruby Mae, and a little boy named Franklin. Aaron also suffers from a constant craving for coffee, and is happy to indulge by buying a cup for any student who wants one.

Rob France (Assistant Director)
Rob is a recent addition to the Penn State Hillel team. Originally from Delaware, Rob attended the University of Delaware where he majored in International Relations, played club soccer, and worked for the school newspaper. After graduation, Rob joined Teach For America in Memphis, where he spent two years teaching and six years working as a coach of teachers, an Academic Dean at a charter high school, and as a Managing Director of Teacher Leadership Development for Teach For America. In his spare time, Rob served on the board of the University of Memphis's Hillel and engaging Jewish Teach For America corps members, which led him to his new role at State College. When he's not working, Rob is obsessed with Philadelphia sports, soccer, cooking, and his wife and their two dogs, Cole and Chooch. He also is a self-confessed coffee afficionado and would love to get a cup of coffee with you at your favorite hangout!
Rob can be reached at email@example.com or 814.865.0005.
Alex Bolotovsky (Director of Institutional Advancement)
graduating from Penn State and serving as president of the student
board of Penn State Hillel, Alex spent the last four years as the
Program Director of BBYO Miami Region. During his time in Miami, Alex
was able to complete an MBA with a focus in Non-Profit Management and a
graduate certificate of Informal Jewish Education. He loves Penn State

Lori Thompson-Given (Director of Operations)
Lori has worked at Penn State Hillel since 2005. She is a graduate of South Hills School of Business and Technology, State College Campus. Lori is the facilitator of all office management, accounting, development database, and financial transactions. Additionally, she represents Hillel in the Chamber of Business and Industry for Centre County. Because she has been a life-long resident of the Centre Region, Lori has a comprehensive knowledge of Happy Valley and the surrounding area. Aside from being an avid reader, Lori enjoys spending time with her husband, Scott, and daughter, Hannah, as well as her three beautiful cats. All the State College woodland creatures love Lori so, when you stop by to see her, you’re likely to notice a bird, chipmunk, and/or squirrel staring through the window waiting for a tasty treat.

Leah comes from Miami, Florida and recently graduated from the University of Central Florida. During her time there, she studied communication sciences and disorders. Her involvement outside of the classroom included Greek life, running elections for SGA, and being a team captain and later a member of the morale committee for Knight-Thon. She's very excited to be joining the Penn State Hillel family this school year. Though she may change her mind in the heart of winter, Leah's looking forward to living somewhere that snows and has more seasons than just summer and thunderstorms. She enjoys spending her time listening to music ranging from acoustic to hip-hop, going to the beach, reading any book with an interesting story, traveling, and appreciating the great outdoors, Above all else, Leah enjoys getting to know new people and would love to grab a cup of coffee with you!
My name is Cydney Goldberg and I spent all my life in Toledo, Ohio and I couldn't be more excited to move to Happy Valley! I spent my four years of college in Athens, Ohio at Ohio University working towards my BA in Early Childhood Education. I was very active in my sorority and was an intern for Hillel for three years in a row. During the summer I am a supervisor at a Jewish overnight camp, and I love getting to watch the children and the staff grow personally and Jewishly throughout the nine weeks here. On my spare time I love seeing movies, traveling, being outdoors, drinking coffee, or just being around friends and family!
Maor Bar Yossef (Israel Fellow)
Maor, our new Israel Fellow at Penn State Hillel is coming to us all the way from a small town just outside of Tel Aviv. He studies Biology at Tel Aviv University and loves hanging in and studying nature. You won't have to ask him twice when it comes to a nice outdoors trip. He's very excited to join the Penn State Hillel family this year and cannot wait to get to know everyone. He is open to spending time with you, talking about anything and everything; music, science, the economy, the weather, the new iPhone...and of course Israel. Although Maor is having a hard time understanding why people would ever drink coffee by choice, he would be more than happy to grab some tea (and anything you want to drink...no judgement), and anything to eat (because who doesn't love food) any time!
