Cleveland Hillel Foundation is coordinating a paid, summer internship
program for college sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Students are
placed, based on skills and interests, at local businesses and
non-profits for internships in fields such as (but not limited to)
real estate, marketing/PR/advertising, community relations and
planning, environmental activism, business, accounting, finance,
social work, biotech, arts and culture, radio, and more.

Dates for the program are June 11 – August 3, 2012
The final application deadline is February 24, 2012

Birthright Israel EXCEL

Penn State Hillel has been specifically selected for targeted recruitment for this exciting summer opportunity!! Birthright Israel Excel is a selective 10-week summer fellowship program in Israel for talented American Jewish undergraduate students (currently sophomores, juniors and seniors) who are pursuing careers in business, technology, biotech, marketing and social media. Each Birthright Israel Excel Fellow will intern at a prominent multinational Israeli company, travel to Israeli sites, meet with prominent members of the business, political and academic communities, and join an exclusive community of future global Jewish business and technology leaders. Upon return from Israel, Birthright Israel Excel participants will be paired with business mentors in the U.S. The goal of the mentor program is to further broaden the participants’ understanding of global economics, decision making and social responsibility. All expenses associated with flights, housing and group programming will be covered by Birthright Israel Excel. This program is open (but not exclusive) to Taglit-Birthright Israel alumni. Tikvah Fund

Stipend:                                  Between $30,000 and $75,000, depending on age, experience,

Designed to cultivate expertise and experience through a combination of coursework, projects, and internships, the Tikvah Fellowship is devoted to the study of the challenges facing the Jewish people, the Jewish State, and the broader world of Jewish ideas. Based in New York City, the Fellowship offers graduate-level courses in Jewish and contemporary religious, intellectual, and political thought in areas including philosophy, theology, law, economics, and strategic studies. Fellows conduct independent scholarly projects or complete high-level work placements. Current placements include writing for theWall Street Journal, researching at the Brookings Institution, serving as rabbinical interns at Lincoln Square Synagogue and Riverdale Jewish Center, and teaching at SAR High School and Ramaz Upper School. All fellows enjoy frequent opportunities to meet and work with leading figures in journalism, policy, academia, communal and religious life. Exceptional students from around the world will convene in Princeton to study Jewish texts, Jewish thought, and Jewish perspectives on the great questions of human life. They will be guided by world-class scholars and teachers, including: Leora Batnitzky, Director of the Tikvah Project at Princeton University, Moshe Halbertal (Hebrew University), Michael Walzer (Institute for Advanced Study), Leon Kass (University of Chicago), Steven Smith (Yale University), Christine Hayes (Yale University), and many more.  Topics for this year’s program include Tradition and Authority, Evil and Suffering, Love and Desire, God and Politics, and a special two-day symposium on The Future of Jews and Judaism. Students will have opportunities to engage in both formal and informal conversations with faculty and to hear debates and lectures about contemporary issues relevant to the Jewish future. Dorm accommodations and kosher meals will be provided. Travel costs will be covered for international students and grants, based on need, are available for students in North America. A select, international group of outstanding young men and women will gather in Israel for a transformative journey of cultural exploration, text study, and mutual discovery. Drawing on the canonical texts of Judaism and the great works of Western civilization, the Fellows will explore the ideas that have informed Zionism from its origins through the present, and engage in a broad discussion regarding Israel and its future. The program will take place at The Ein Prat Academy for Leadership, located in the Judean hills outside Jerusalem. It will be led by Dr. Micah Goodman, one of Israel’s leading thinkers. Fellows will live and study with their Israeli peers, travel, and meet prominent academics and public figures such as Rabbi Professor David Hartman (Shalom Hartman Institute), Dr. Daniel Gordis (Shalem Center), Dr. Ran Baratz (Hebrew University), and Professor Moshe Halbertal (Hebrew University).  Flight costs to Israel are covered. CLIP: Collegiate Leadership Internship Program

American Hebrew Academy Fellowship 

The AHA Fellowship Program seeks enthusiastic and highly motivated recent college graduates from all Jewish backgrounds who want to increase their knowledge and build tangible career related skills residing alongside and serving talented high school Jewish teens in a boarding school setting. Fellows, in coordination with the Director of Residential Life, will be able to create personalized work experiences incorporating both formal and informal educational components. Fellows will have daily residential life responsibilities and weekly professional development/networking opportunities. In addition, Fellows will be able to chart their professional path by taking advantage of opportunities in areas such as the classroom (Jewish and secular), marketing, admissions, communication, school counseling, arts, sports, and the like. AHA Fellows receive an apartment, food, a stipend, and health benefits. Fellowship placements are one academic year assignments beginning each August. Inquiries are welcome throughout the year.

TAMID Israel Investment Group at Penn State  is a student led initiative that pioneers the next generation of American commitment to Israel by connecting business-minded students with the Israeli economy. The initiative educates students about the Israeli business landscape, establishes a student-run investment portfolio, consults for Israeli firms, and PLACES STUDENTS ON INTERNSHIPS IN ISRAEL.
